Charlie
How long have you worked at King's?
Since May of 1979
What are your primary responsibilities day-to-day?
My ultimate goal is to make sure we are a successful company. This looks different each day, but I am constantly working to ensure the success of each of our departments.
What’s your favorite part about working at King’s?
Without a doubt, the people. It gives me great pride and a sense of accomplishment when I drive by or walk-up to a project that I know our company has had significant involvement with.
What’s one of the most memorable projects you’ve worked on while at King’s?
My initial response would be; “next one.”
There have been many projects that have fond memories such as the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena, which was the last project I took my father out on. That project was complex, including the use of concrete to support the refrigerated spaces in the floor.
Another interesting job that comes to mind was the ADM Coal Storage project. A massive sphere shaped 298 ft x 164 ft wide dome where concrete was sprayed to inflate the dome.
What would your walk-up song be if you were a baseball player?
The live version of “Love the One You’re With” by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
