Mike

Manager, Ready Mix Division

How long have you worked at King's?

Over 20 years

What are your primary responsibilities day-to-day?

Direct supervisor to 1 quality control technician, 2 dispatchers, 20 drivers and 2 mechanics.  I do payroll, daily ticket processing, mix design development and submittals, job quotations, quality control, inventory management, administrator for our truck tracking system, concrete trouble shooting, and plant maintenance.

What’s your favorite part about working at King’s?

I love working for a family owned business.  I have always felt like part of the family and believe that everyone employed here feels that as well.  This family minded atmosphere makes it easy to promote and enhance our core values.

What’s one of the most memorable projects you’ve worked on while at King’s?

The most memorable job for me was the Federal Courthouse (roughly $120 million, 287,600 square foot) that was built downtown.  This multi-year project was a high-profile job (Opened on my birthday, November 5) that required a great deal of preparation and attention to detail.  The mix submittals required both metric and standard designs.  This project also achieved LEED Gold status.

What would your walk-up song be if you were a baseball player?

"Seven Nation Army" would be my walk-up song.  It would get me and the crowd pumped up!
